My Know-How of Constant Writing

I created this blog in Blogspot from Google, after I had experienced using Naver, WordPress, and GitHub. I really hope that I’ll be able to maintain this blog for long. I don’t want to be capricious and change my blog to another platform. I have learnt some know-how of constant writing when I used several blog platforms I mentioned above.

1. The maintenance fee of the blog should be free.

It mentally tires me out when I have to care about the web hosting storage fee. If I have to worry whether I exceeded my storage limit or not, I’ll be tired easily.

2. Excessive expectations of my writing could be another reason for discontinuing writing.

I really wanted to create posts better than before when I ran my WordPress blog and devoted myself to it. I made some YouTube videos and inserted them in my posts, which explained the algorithms and program logic of my programs. I invested at least one day to write the posts, and I even had to invest several days to make the programs and videos. A couple of months later, I got a job, and I couldn’t maintain the habit of creating that kind of decent posts anymore for not having enough time to do so in my WordPress blog.

3. Don’t be obsessed with writing IT posts only.

I was getting tired of focusing on a certain topic. Yes, it is a good thing to have a certain main topic for my blog to lure more views, to gain Adsense profit, to advertise something, or to make a portfolio. But as not intend to do anything above, just writing whatever I want no matter how it is going to be different than my original expectation of it will help me to start writing a post more easily.

4. Don’t start this only to make money.

I should have known running a personal blog could give me just some penny. It can be frustrating starting a blog only for this reason.

5. Use a comfortable writing style.

It is more comfortable for me to write in plain text than to use honorifics in the Korean version of this blog. In this English version, using a casual writing style would make me write something down rather than a formal style.

Bye bye 😃
